MWCC 2010/11 Senior Pre-Season

The 2010/2011 season is less than 3 months away and preparations for the new year are well under way.

The club has been very active over the winter break and training activities have already begun. In partnership with the newly formed Junior Committee the Senior Club ran a Free School Holiday clinic for all of our junior players last week, while our Youth Development Squad begins this Wednesday Night.

The senior pre-season begins in August with our first session at the Indoor Cricket Centre in Clayton on Wed 4^th August starting at 7.15pm. We will have a quick meeting to discuss plans for the upcoming season at this first session so we want all players to attend this night.

Over the next 4 weekends there will also be optional training runs. Details of these will be sent by email in the week prior. Also if you would like to have a hit before training starts you can also contact Senior Coach - Saliya Ahangama (0400 014 959) who can make an arrangement at the Indoor Centre with you.

The full preseason calendar is attached above. Some specific points to note are:

• The fitness & fielding sessions at Ashburton and Glen Waverley SC do not require a cricket kit unless specifically notified. You should bring running gear, a water bottle and sweat towel.
• All batting & bowling sessions are at the Indoor Cricket Centre at Clayton; your full kit is required for these sessions.
• You must wear your Mt Waverley Training gear at all sessions. If you do not have training gear please contact me.
• The Senior Squad sessions are designated for likely 1^st & 2^nd XI players – these players will be invited separately. If you want to be included in these sessions, please send me an email.
• Senior Registration Night is Monday 13^th of September. All players are expected to pay their Subscriptions (or at least a deposit) on this night. Please start making plans to ensure this is possible.
• We have 2 practice matches scheduled for the weekend of 18/19^th September. If you cannot play on either day you must notify me ASAP.
• All training sessions are considered compulsory. If you cannot make a session (or a series of sessions) for whatever reason, you must notify myself by email or phone (details below).

The club is very excited about the upcoming season having come off a 4^th XI premiership, a 1^st XI semi-final appearance and having our Hatch Medal winning 1^st XI captain Rob Bartlett and Senior Coach Saliya Ahangama back on board for the new year.

We expect to be playing finals cricket in each of grades and will be looking for all of our players to step up their intensity on training track and in our games this season. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
